Mr. Galep had a brand new vision for his guesthouse kitchen/living room’s look, and it included window treatments. He was specific about bamboo roller shades fitting the Zen Garden aesthetic he was working toward so that the guesthouse would fit the yard.
There were three windows in Mr. Galep’s guesthouse, but only two of them in the main room that he wanted to match the new landscaping. Since the window frames had much more room on the outside than the inside, we advised him to choose exterior rollers. We cut and assembled the bamboo sticks to size, and used a loop-and-strap weave to bind them into the shades’ sheet formations. The roller shades are unpowered; he installed a draw-belt next to each window for child-safe control purposes. The installation required quite a bit of drywall and repainting work, but the end result satisfied Mr. Galep.
